I Must Betray You

In 1989 Romania, seventeen-year-old Cristian Florescu dreams of becoming a writer while communist governments begin falling across Europe. But under dictator Nicolae Ceau?escu, freedom is scarce, fear is everywhere, and even dreaming of a different future can be dangerous.

When the secret police blackmail Cristian into becoming an informer, he faces an impossible choice: betray the people he loves or use his new position to secretly fight back. Determined to expose the truth about the brutal regime, Cristian risks everything to give his fellow Romanians a voice and joins the revolution when it finally arrives.
