Birdy

After the death of their mother, eleven-year-old Birdy and her younger brother, Mouse, are sent to live with relatives they've never met in the countryside. While Mouse quickly grows attached to their new home, Birdy struggles to trust the adults around her and believes their stay is only temporary.

As the summer passes, Birdy finds it difficult to let down her guard, especially knowing that a social worker is searching for a permanent home for them. When her fears lead to a serious mistake, Birdy must decide whether she can trust others and open herself to the possibility of a new beginning.
