After Nancy was expelled from the Halls of the Dead and sent to Eleanor West's School for Wayward Children, she never expected to find her door again. When she finally did, she left without looking back. She vanished from the school to reclaim her place in the Halls, with no plans to return.

Years went by. A darkness has fallen over the Halls, and the living statues that once guarded it are now dying at the hands of the already dead. The Lord and Lady who rule the land are powerless to stop the carnage. This forces Nancy to leave the Halls once more, this time deliberately, as she seeks help from her old schoolmates.

But who would willingly step into a world where the dead roam free?

And why are the dead so determined to increase their numbers?
