Dropping Beats is a humorous and heartfelt middle-grade novel about friendship, resilience, and chasing dreams. Thirteen-year-old Shaun, better known as Growls, is an aspiring rapper—albeit not a very good one. With his best friend, Shanks, by his side, he dreams of entering the Raptology competition, winning over his crush, Tanisha, and finally gaining the respect he craves.

However, when a livestream practice session turns into an epic disaster, Growls and Shanks go viral for all the wrong reasons, becoming the school's biggest joke. With Shanks suddenly ghosting him and his reputation in ruins, Growls feels like his dreams are slipping away.

Then he meets Siobhan, a new girl in town who helps him see things differently. With a renewed sense of determination, Growls sets out to prove himself. As he hones his skills, he learns that success isn't just about fame—it's about perseverance, believing in yourself, and showing up for the people who matter.

Now, it's comeback season, and Growls is ready to reclaim his confidence, his friendship with Shanks, and maybe even his shot at Raptology glory.
