Old School - Paperback

Dexter Foreman may be twelve, but after spending half his life at The Pines retirement village, he has more in common with the senior residents than kids his own age. Raised by his grandmother and homeschooled by his elderly neighbors, Dexter's comfortable routine comes crashing to an end when a truancy officer declares it's time for him to attend a "real" school.

Middle school is a whole new world, and Dexter definitely doesn't blend in. He dresses like a grandpa, has old-fashioned taste in music and movies, and can be every bit as cranky as his senior friends. While most classmates see him as weird - or an easy target - school newspaper reporter Gianna Greco finds him fascinating.

All Dexter wants is to get back to his old life at The Pines. But when that possibility finally comes within reach, his two very different worlds collide in a way no one expects - especially Dexter.
