The Labors of Hercules Beal

Herc Beal may be named after the legendary Hercules, but he doesn't feel much like a hero. As the smallest kid in his new middle school, he can't imagine how he's supposed to complete an assignment that challenges him to recreate the famous hero's legendary labors - especially since there aren't any Nemean Lions or Hydras roaming Cape Cod.

Missing his parents and wishing his older brother wasn't always busy with work, Herc slowly begins tackling the impossible challenge. Along the way, he finds loyal friends - both human and animal - and discovers that even the greatest heroes don't always have to face their biggest challenges alone.
