Twelve-year-old Manya has never been impressed by the endless gags at her parents' joke shop, Pranks-A-Million. As an aspiring scientist, she's much more interested in the science behind the tricks, so signing up for an after-school science class with her best friend, Isaac, seems like the perfect opportunity.

Everything changes when a string of prank products is connected to a series of accidents - including one that turns deadly. After Manya's parents are arrested for murder, she's determined to clear their names. To uncover the truth, she'll have to use everything she knows about the science behind those not-so-harmless pranks.
