The Library of Unruly Treasures

Spending two weeks with her never-before-met Uncle Matthew doesn't bother Gwen MacKinnon one bit - especially since her parents are truly, deeply, almost impressively dreadful. The unexpected visit gets off to an even better start when she meets his very opinionated dog, Pumpkin.

Things become much stranger after Gwen uncovers a secret at the local library involving tiny winged creatures called Lahdukan - and they're definitely not birds. For some reason, only Gwen and the youngest children at storytime can see them. When the Lahdukan declare that Gwen is destined to help them find a new home, she can't imagine why someone so unwanted, uncourageous, and generally unheroic would be their chosen hero. Luckily, Pumpkin has a few ideas.
