Simon O'Keeffe could be known for plenty of strange moments - like when his dad accidentally gave a squirrel a holy sacrament or when an alpaca mishap went viral on YouTube. But the story everyone focuses on is the one Simon wishes he could forget: surviving a school shooting.

Two years later, twelve-year-old Simon and his family move to the National Quiet Zone, the only place in the U.S. without internet. There, astronomers search for signals from space instead of focusing on his past. When Simon befriends someone determined to help them make a discovery, he finally has a chance to reshape the story the world tells about him.
