Tale of the Flying Forest

After her mother's death and her father's withdrawal into grief, eleven-year-old Anne Applebaum fears her only happy endings exist in The World to Come, a book of fairy tales set in the flying forest of Bei Ilai, where children outwit demons, girls train as knights, and songs come alive. Still feeling alone, Anne follows a raven's claim that she has a long-lost twin brother, Rainer, and sets out to find him, discovering that Bei Ilai is real and stepping into its magical world.

In the forest, beauty and danger go hand in hand. As Anne faces monsters and challenges, she must rely on her inner strength and her Jewish faith, especially after learning that Rainer is imprisoned by a force more terrifying than any dragon.

The greatest threat she encounters is a villain who was once a hero.
