There is another school for children who pass through doors and return once more. This place is not as warm or welcoming as Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children. It is far less safe.

When Eleanor West established her school her sanctuary, her Home for Wayward Children she understood from the start that some children she could not save. When Cora decides she wants a different path, a different destiny, a different prophecy, Miss West agrees, though reluctantly, to transfer her to the other school. There, under the leadership of Whitethorn, the Headmaster, things are run very differently.

Cora will soon learn that not every door leads to a kind place.
