Cookies & Milk is a heartwarming summer story filled with family, friendship, and fun fiascos, capturing the irresistible charm of a fresh-baked cookie. The novel follows Ellis Bailey Johnson, who's stuck with the summertime blues. Instead of enjoying carefree days with friends, music, and his harmonica, Ellis must help his dad bring a wildly ambitious plan to life: opening the world's first chocolate chip cookie store. With only six weeks to perfect their recipe, fix up a worn-down A-frame storefront on Hollywood's iconic Sunset Boulevard, and attract customers, the family faces one unexpected challenge after another. As secrets come to light, Ellis must figure out if he can bake a happy ending out of the chaos. Inspired in part by Shawn Amos's own childhood as the son of Wally "Famous" Amos, the novel blends humor, heart, and playful illustrations, delivering a story full of self-discovery, unconditional love, and community spirit.
