Since Vernon discontinued the SP1 foil-backed labels that were side-mounted, in favor of these DRA1 center-mounted ones, I have been having nothing but trouble with them. Both the labels and the paper strip they're mounted on are slightly stiffer than the old side-mounted version, and it's just enough to give my printer issues with feeding them properly. One label will print, and the next label section will jam up behind the roller, because it doesn't have enough flex to go around the roller smoothly. They throw off the sensor timing. I have to spend my time putting gentle upward pressure on each label section as it prints, so the rest won't jam. Because they are center-mounted, that also means that the pin holes often ride right next to, or even right over the paper sensor lever, and sometimes get snagged on it. This never happened with the side-mounted ones, as they sit much further over the sensor. These also don't separate at the perforations as well as the others; I'm constantly fighting with them. I'm strongly considering buying what seems to be the last remaining side-mounted SP1 labels from a competitor, even though they're twice the price. Value isn't just price, it's time and hassle as well.
