Can I use a puchase order (P.O.) number to order items?
Only publicly funded institutions may pay with a P.O., all others must prepay. If you are paying with a P.O., at checkout please remember to change the payment method (at the bottom of the Billing Address section) to "Company PO."

Is there a minimum I have to spend?
No, we do not require a minimum dollar or quantity amount when you place your order.

Why should I log in to your web site to place orders?
Logging in allows you to set up saved carts for products you may need to order regularly. Plus, this saves your information so you do not have to retype your address, contact information, etc. each time you order. Only information on orders placed online is available online.

I am a new customer. How do I set up an online account?
Setting up a new online account is easy. Our log in feature is located in the upper right corner of every page. Enter the email and password you wish to use and hit the new account button. You will be asked to provide your shipping and billing address. You can also choose to provide us with this information at a later time.br> back to top

Do I need an account number to order from Vernon?
No, however, we assign an account number to each of our customers. If you are ordering from Vernon for the first time, we will create a specific account number for you. However, you do not need to know this number to place an order online.

Where can I find my Vernon account number?
Your account number is printed on every invoice that is mailed,faxed or e-mailed to you. You don't need to know your account number when ordering online. If you are, however, ordering over the phone, providing us with your Vernon account number will speed up the ordering process.

Of course, individuals can place orders with Vernon as can private, public, religious organizations, and businesses.

How do I order custom products?
If you are ordering custom items (patron cards, custom labels, book pockets, signage, etc…), additional information is required. Please contact our customer service staff at 1-800-878-0253.

How do I use the search feature?
The search feature located in the upper right corner of every page is very easy to use. Simply enter your keywords in the search box, hit "Go", and our search function will direct you to the product you want, along with complementary items you might be needing. If you've ordered with us before and already know the SKU number of the item you wish to purchase, you may also search by SKU.

I added items to my cart but now it is empty. What's wrong?
You may have your cookies turned off or your browser is saving corrupted cookies. First, make sure your cookies are turned on. If this does not help, then delete any cookies containing "Vernon" or "vernlib." If this does not eliminate the problem, please delete all your cookies. Be aware that doing this may log you out of some sites you have stored login information on, but it won't damage your computer in any way. Can I save the items in my Shopping Cart for later retrieval?
Yes. Go to "Your Cart" page; it should display your currently selected item(s). Click on "Save Cart" button, name your cart and click "Save Cart" again. When you are ready to place this order at a later time, simply go to "Your Account" page and click on "Saved Carts" link.

Go to your shopping cart. If there are still items in your cart, then your order did not go through. You may have not clicked "Place Order" on the check out page.

Will I be charged taxes?
While in the checkout process, you'll be asked to confirm your tax status: taxable or exempt. Customers inside the state of Georgia that are tax exempt must provide us with a copy of their tax exemption certificate. Please fax a copy of your certificate to 1-800-466-1165.

When will I see sale prices applied?
Prices associated with coupons will be reflected in your shopping cart after you enter the coupon number in the Coupon Redemption area on the check out page and click on "Recalculate" button.

I've placed the coupon code in the box, but it's not working. What's wrong?
The coupon may not be applicable to the products you're ordering. Also, check the coupon again, you may have misspelled the coupon code. If you're not sure as to why it's not working, please place the code in the comments section of your order. We will review your order and make sure the coupon is honored if applicable.

Why doesn't my cart show me the shipping charges?
Our shipping and handling is determined by weight and distance. Some items ship from different locations and some items must ship by truck. Unfortunately, at this time our web site cannot automatically calculate this. However, one of our customer service representatives will call, fax or e-mail you with a shipping quote within 24 hours if order is placed on a business day.

All orders recieved on a business day are processed with 24 hours. If there are any problems in processing your order, one of our customer service representatives will immediately contact you.

Does Vernon ship to my country?
Bongo International provides its customers with their very own US address (not a P.O. Box). Once you have a US address, you will be able to make purchases at our website as well as other US based online retailers. Bongo receives your purchases and logs them into their online system where you can consolidate them with other orders.

This process saves international customers up to 82% off typical international shipping rates.

How much will I pay for shipping?
At Vernon, we strive to keep our prices low. In a rapidly changing world where prices continue to rise at an alarming rate, please be assured that we do our best to pack and ship your products in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. We review each order, taking into account destination, weight and size; then select the most economical and logical shipping option available. It is our primary goal to provide the best service to our customers in all areas, while keeping our product prices and your costs as low as possible. There is a minimum shipping charge of $7.95 on all orders, regardless of the dollar amount of your order.

How are my items shipped?
Most library and office supply products for everyday use are kept in stock for shipment within one business day from company headquarters in Norcross, GA. Lead times for delivery of furniture, shelving, equipment and other large items that are drop shipped vary depending on the manufacturer. Please call to inquire about exact lead times for specific drop shipped items (1-800-878-0253). For other items, most economical shipping means (usually UPS or FedEx Ground) will be utilized. We understand that some things just can't wait, and, where possible, will rush your order when requested with no additional handling charge (expedited shipping charge will be added to your invoice).

What does "ship by truck" mean?
All items that ship by truck are too large or heavy to be delivered by small-parcel carriers and will be delivered using a common carrier. Delivery charges will vary based on weight, distance and special services needed. At this time, our web site cannot automatically calculate shipping charges for items that ship by truck. However, one of our customer service representatives will call you with a shipping quote within 24 hours if order is placed on a business day.

What does "drop ship" mean?
If the status of your order is "Drop Ship", this means your merchandise ships directly from the manufacturer and tracking information is not always readily available.

When can I expect my order to ship?
We offer same-day shipping for all in stock items if order is received before 2pm (EST). Orders received after 2pm are shipped the next day. Backorders will ship immediately after stock is received. Shipping/handling is free on back-ordered stock items (U.S. customers only). Custom products ship within 6 to 8 weeks, depending on product and quantity - please call for exact lead time (1-800-878-0253). Drop ship items ship between four to six weeks. Large-quantity and special-order merchandise ships within two to six weeks.

What if something in my shipment is missing?
Please compare shipment contents with packing slip. Some items may be backordered for later delivery. Call Vernon customer service for clarifications or if part of the order needs to be traced (if one box is missing, it may arrive the next day).

What if something in my shipment is damaged?
Please immediately report any damages on the delivery slip when your shipment arrives (carrier is liable for damages only if reported on delivery slip). Contact Vernon customer service at 1-800-878-0253 for a replacement and for assistance in filing a claim with the carrier. Keep all cartons and inner packing together with your damaged merchandise on your premises until further notice from Vernon Library Supplies or the carrier (an inspection will be done)

Return Policy

What is Vernon's guarantee?
Vernon guarantees that all products offered for sale will be free of defects and perform as specified. Products are not warranted for uses other than those specified. Performance guaranties are for one year unless otherwise specified. With the exception of custom manufactured and some technical products, all products in resalable condition may be returned within 60 days of receipt, subject to restocking fees of 20% in addition to all freight charges. Do not return any product without first calling for a return authorization.

What is the return process?
1. Call Customer Service for a return authorization for merchandise in resalable condition in its original packaging: 800-878-0253.
2. Email to your Customer Service Representative your understanding that merchandise must be returned using a traceable package delivery company such as UPS or FedEx (unless directed otherwise). For example, "I understand that merchandise must be returned using a traceable package delivery company."
3. Enclose a copy of your packing slip or invoice in the return package, if possible, and write the return authorization number on at least two outside faces of the package.
4. Returns must be received within 30 days of the date of the return authorization.
5. We will credit your account or charge card for the amount of the merchandise when we receive it in resalable condition.

Yes, there is a restocking fee of 20% in addition to all freight charges.

Who is responsible for return shipping charges?
You are responsible for shipping arrangements, insurance and freight charges for any return of products ordered wrong, not suitable, etc… We can only refund shipping charges if the return is a result of our error.
